This is the last blog of this series, or so I think for now. When the Lord started to talk to me about this topic, I had no idea where He was leading me. This has been a journey for me, a personal encounter with Him on a different level. Where I thought I was going, was not where I ended up. Continue reading
In the previous blog post we said that going over into action after gaining the knowledge and then believing it, is to move towards God – seeking Him and His Kingdom. This year in our ladies ministry at church the verse that we started the year off with is Psalms 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God;”
When we are talking about action and moving towards God, why do I think this verse is applicable to this subject? Continue reading
In the previous blogs, I started off by saying that we need knowledge of God and an understanding of this knowledge. We get to know Him better by spending time with Him, and then comes faith by believing the unseen, and growing our roots deep into the living water. The next step is action.
Synonyms for action is activity and movement. We briefly touched on movement at the end of the previous blog (faith and trees).
Jesus illustrates faith to us by using the parable of the mustard seed.
Matthew 13:31-32 (NKJV)
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
Faith can start of as small as a mustard seed, but it has the potential to grow into a beautiful and massive tree. We will get into more detail about how we can grow from a tiny little seed into a great big tree, a little bit later.
The entire Hebrews 11 is about faith, it is a very interesting read, and takes a look at people in the Bible who had faith and how their lives changed because they had faith. Let’s look at some of the examples in the Bible. Continue reading
In the previous blog post I started to think about the situations we sometimes find ourselves in, when we know what the Word says, but yet we feel helpless in our situation. We have the knowledge, but we need to make the knowledge, our faith and what we believe in. And then we need to go over into action – live in our faith. Thus far we have discussed knowledge and the importance of it. The knowledge that God wants us to have is knowledge of Him.
This blog will focus on faith. Getting to believe in the knowledge that we have of God. Continue reading
Sometimes we get to a point where we just feel overwhelmed, discouraged and even hopeless. Things around us get too much. Do you sometimes feel like this? I sometimes do. When this happens, I know that I am a child of God, I know what the Word says and I know God has never let me down, and yet, I feel overwhelmed. I realise knowing the truth, knowing what God has done and is doing is just knowledge if I do not have faith in what I believe in and if I do not put it into practice in my life. Continue reading
